Gearhead Sundays at Revival Cycles
Revival Cycles, a craft motorcycle shop here in Austin, hosts a monthly motorcycle and car meet at their shop just outside of town.
On one mine and my boyfriend Jake’s first dates he brought me there. After poking around the shop I quickly got swept off my feet by Revival. The unique feel of the shop is hard to encapsulate but I knew it was for me as soon as I walked in. There are badass old vintage bikes everywhere, with really cool decor on the walls like old bike diagrams, vintage ads, various motorcycle parts, neon signs, and more. The bikes that are scattered throughout the shop are a combination of show bikes and ones they’re working on for clients. You can go into all of their workshop rooms where there are meticulous designs sprawled on dry erase boards. I get a very intimate feeling while poking around someone else’s workspace on their day off but they graciously share it with the public each month.
And I haven’t even mentioned the free tacos and coffee! There is nothing more Austin, Texas than sipping on perfectly brewed Thunderbird coffee while munching on a delicious breakfast taco and looking at cool bikes. But you have to get there early! It starts at 9am and sometimes the tacos go quickly.
